The challenge
Directors needed a monthly finance summary but the person producing it spent half a day rebuilding the same Excel workbook each time. If that person left, the process would collapse — and nearly did.
The approach
We standardised three years of historical data, built a Power BI model from monthly CSV exports, and created a one-page summary showing income, expenditure, net position, and variance against budget — with a plain-language refresh guide.
The outcome
Directors had a consistent one-page summary they could review independently. Variance against budget was visible without manual calculation. The process survived a staff change.
